Live in Walworth County and ready to submit to Shoreland? The inaugural publication will be printed in spring 2027.

 

Deadline to submit: Feb 1, 2027.

 

Please read this information carefully!

THEME: BLOSSOM

Keywords: growth, beginning, new transformations, uprooting, and a sense of light, airy freshness in the air.

​

Here's what we're looking for:

​

Artwork & Photography

Submit 3-5 works of art, and please label each file with the title of the piece of art. Submissions must be a .png or .jpg, not .pdf or other format. Please include a brief artist statement about the art pieces, including the title, mediums used (if applicable), and inspiration.

​

Writing

Submit 1-3 pieces of writing in short story, poetry, flash fiction, or non-fiction form, max 900 words. Submissions MUST be in Word document format, not iPage. Please also include a brief author bio - max two sentences. 

​

Cover Art

Seeking cover art that speaks to the theme, Blossom. Must fit within 8.5x5.5 inches, high resolution at least 300 DPI. 

​

You must include the town in Walworth County that you live in in your submission.

Some Nitty Gritty Details: 

If Shoreland accepts your original piece for an upcoming issue, we ask that you not publish or submit that same piece to another local publication before our issue comes out. After we publish it, you're free to publish, share, sell, or submit it anywhere else.

​

Previously published work from a blog or social media is fine; just let us know when you submit it. 

 

Contributors keep ownership of their work. By submitting something that Shoreland accepts, you're giving us permission to reproduce it in the print edition of the zine and to promote that issue using reasonable excerpts or images of the printed zine.
